Shungite is a newcomer to Western practice and it is worth saying so plainly. You will not find it in Cunningham or in the older correspondence tables, because it simply was not in the conversation when those were written. What it has instead is a fast-built modern reputation as a grounding and shielding stone, taken up by practitioners who wanted something heavy, dark, and carbon-simple to work protection with.

Read symbolically, that reputation makes sense. Carbon is the element life is built out of. A black stone that absorbs rather than reflects is an obvious candidate for the work of holding what you would rather not carry yourself. Wear it as a boundary you can see.

1. Cleanse it on arrival with smoke, with sound, or with a night left out under the moon.
2. Hold it and name the boundary you want it to mark. Shielding work goes clearer when the edge is actually defined.
3. Wear it on your receiving side, the non-dominant hand, if you want it standing between you and what comes in.
4. Take it off deliberately at the end of the day. A boundary you never set down stops being a boundary and becomes armor.

Re-cleanse it whenever it starts to feel heavy in the hand. That is your practice talking, and it is worth listening to.

Does shungite block EMF or purify water?

Those claims are widely made and they are not supported by evidence. We sell this as spiritual jewelry and a symbolic tool. If you want it for shielding work in a ritual sense, it is excellent. If you want it to do something to your router, it will not.

Will it fit me?

The stretch cord accommodates most adult wrists. It has give, so it goes on over the hand without a clasp.

Why is shungite so light?

Because it is mostly carbon rather than dense silicate minerals. That lightness surprises people who expect a black stone to feel like a black stone, and it is one of the easiest ways to tell you are holding the real thing.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a dry or barely damp cloth. Shungite can leave a faint dark trace on the skin when it is new, which is normal for a carbon stone and eases with wear.
