Collection: Herbs & Apothecary — Plant Magic for Every Practice
Plants have been the foundation of every healing and magical tradition on earth. Long before pharmacies and wellness brands, there were herbalists, root workers, curanderas, hedgewitches, and kitchen practitioners who understood that the natural world offered medicine for the body, the spirit, and the space between them.
This collection is built in that spirit. You'll find dried herbs for spellwork and ritual, herbal blends for tea and smoke, spiritual soaps and washes rooted in folk magic tradition, colognes and perfume oils from Hoodoo and Curanderismo lineages, and the tools to work with all of it. At Plentiful Earth, we carry the plant medicine that practitioners actually use, across traditions, with respect for where it comes from.

What You'll Find Here
Dried Herbs. The backbone of the apothecary. Dried herbs are among the most versatile tools in any magical or wellness practice: burned as loose incense, added to spell bags and sachets, steeped for teas, blended into baths, used in floor washes, or simply kept on the altar for their energetic presence. Our selection spans the full range of commonly worked herbs in Western magical traditions, from everyday kitchen herbs with deep magical histories, rosemary, basil, cinnamon, to more specialized roots and botanicals used in folk magic lineages.
Herbal Blends. Pre-formulated combinations of herbs designed for a specific purpose or intention. These save the work of researching and assembling individual herbs and are ideal for practitioners who want to work with plant medicine intentionally without building a full herbalist practice from scratch. Many of our blends are formulated with traditional folk magic correspondences in mind.
Tea Blends. Herbal teas that bridge the everyday and the sacred. Drinking a tea with intention, prepared mindfully and consumed as a ritual act, is one of the oldest and most accessible forms of plant medicine. Our tea collection includes blends formulated for relaxation, dream support, energy, and other purposes grounded in both herbal tradition and spiritual practice.
Cleansing Herbs & Bundles. Herbs prepared specifically for space clearing, purification, and protective smoke work. This includes white sage in both bundle and loose leaf form, palo santo sticks, and other cleansing botanicals with deep ceremonial roots. We carry these with awareness of their cultural origins and encourage working with them respectfully within their broader context.
Spiritual Washes. Floor washes and liquid preparations used to cleanse and bless physical spaces, carried in the Hoodoo, Santería, and folk Catholic traditions. Applied to floors, doorways, and thresholds, spiritual washes work on the energetic layer of a space in a way that smoke-based cleansing complements but doesn't replace. Each wash is formulated for a specific purpose: protection, love drawing, money drawing, uncrossing, and more.
Spiritual Soaps. Bar soaps formulated with intentional herbal and spiritual ingredients, used in bathing rituals for cleansing, protection, and drawing specific energies. Rooted in folk magic practice across multiple traditions, spiritual baths are one of the most embodied and direct forms of working with plant medicine, cleansing the body and the energy field simultaneously.
Colognes & Perfumes. Spiritual colognes including Florida Water, Kananga Water, and other traditional preparations used across Hoodoo, Espiritismo, Santería, and Latin American folk magic traditions for cleansing, offering, protection, and ritual. These are working tools with specific ceremonial uses, not simply fragrances. Perfume oils round out this section for practitioners working with intentional scent in ritual and daily practice.
Sachet Powders. Finely ground herbal and mineral blends used in folk magic for dusting, dressing, and drawing. Rooted firmly in the Hoodoo and conjure traditions, sachet powders are applied to hands, scattered across thresholds, dusted onto objects, or used to dress candles and spell components. Each formula carries specific traditional associations.
Florida Water. One of the most widely used ritual preparations in the Western hemisphere, Florida Water is a citrus-and-floral cologne with deep roots in Afro-Caribbean and Latin American spiritual traditions. Used for cleansing altars and tools, as an offering to ancestors and spirits, in spiritual baths, and for general energetic clearing, it belongs on nearly every practitioner's altar.
Salves, Balms & Tools. Topical preparations for body and ritual use, alongside the practical tools of the apothecary: mortar and pestles for grinding and blending, and amber storage bottles and jars for preserving your own preparations.
How Do You Work with Herbs Spiritually?
The simplest entry point is plant energy correspondence. Every herb in the Western magical tradition carries a set of traditional associations, planetary, elemental, and intentional, that have been refined over centuries of use across multiple lineages. Rosemary for memory, clarity, and protection. Lavender for calm, sleep, and psychic opening. Basil for money, love, and warding. Cinnamon for drawing and acceleration. Mugwort for dreams and vision. You don't need to memorize all of them before you start: choose an intention, look up one or two herbs traditionally associated with it, and work with them deliberately.
From there, how you work is less important than that you work with intention. Burning an herb as loose incense, steeping it as a tea, adding it to a bath, carrying it in a sachet, placing it on an altar, or incorporating it into a spell all activate its energy in different ways suited to different purposes. Folk magic lineages each have their specific methods, and if you're drawn to Hoodoo, Curanderismo, Brujería, or any other tradition, learning within that tradition's context gives your practice depth and integrity.
For practitioners who don't follow a specific tradition, a practical approach is to let the herbs guide you: smell them, handle them, research their history, and notice what you're drawn to. Plant medicine has been meeting people where they are for as long as people have been working with it.

Herbs rarely work in isolation. Candles and herbs are one of the most fundamental combinations in folk magic; spell candles are routinely dressed with oils and rolled in herbs as part of a working. Crystals & Stones pair naturally with herbal sachets and altar arrangements, with specific stones chosen to amplify or complement the herbal intention. For practitioners working with incense and aromatic herbs, our Aromatherapy collection extends into resins, incense, and essential oils that sit at the intersection of plant medicine and scent work. For complete ritual workings, our Spell Kits often include herbal components alongside candles and other tools, and our Cleansing & Home Blessing collection brings together the full range of space-clearing tools including spiritual washes, smudge bundles, and more.
