Satin spar gypsum, named plainly here as across our whole selenite shelf, glows the way it does because its fibers pipe light through the stone like frozen optical cable, and the iceberg cut plays to that exactly: stepped, sheared faces that catch lamplight at different depths, so the piece reads lit from inside. The crystal tradition files selenite under cleansing and the crown and keeps large pieces as space-anchors, the tower on the shelf, the centerpiece the practice arranges around, with the resting custom holding that stones set beside selenite clear and recharge between workings, a tradition we pass on as the tradition it is. This is the family's statement piece. The tower clears nothing on its own, as we say plainly; it anchors a room in the mineral world's best light.

Why does selenite glow like that?

Fiber optics, literally: satin spar's parallel fibers pipe light through the stone, which the iceberg's sheared faces catch at different depths.
