The flat slice is the selenite format the crystal tradition calls a charging plate: the polished plane other stones rest on, cleared and recharged between workings by the tradition's reckoning, a custom we pass on as the tradition it is. This set supplies the format in working bulk, ten to thirteen pounds of satin spar gypsum, named plainly as across our whole shelf, cut flat at 5 to 8 inches: enough plates for a reader's table, a shop's display case, gifts for a coven's worth of altars, or the maker who mounts and finishes slices into stands. Bulk mineral honesty as always: sizes and figure vary by slice, which is the nature of stone sold by the case. The plates charge nothing on their own, as we say plainly; they lay the tradition's brightest resting surface everywhere a practice sets stones down.
