The pyramid is a modern shape on the crystal shelf rather than an old one, and the associations it carries, focus, concentration, a point that gathers and directs, come from the twentieth century rather than from Egypt, whatever the marketing suggests. We would rather say that than imply a lineage the object does not have.

What it does have is geometry. A shape that narrows to a point is a good thing to look at when you are trying to narrow your own attention, and a small object kept where you work is a reminder to do so. That is an honest account of what a pyramid on a desk is for, and it is enough.

1. Cleanse it on arrival with smoke, sound, or moonlight.
2. Set it where you work, or at the center of an altar.
3. Hold it and name an intention, letting the shape do what a shape does: narrow the focus.
4. Anchor a small grid with it, at the center.
5. Dust it with a soft cloth, and keep it where it will not be knocked.
