Aquarius Zodiac Poster, 8.5 x 11 Inch

The Water Bearer, ready to frame. At 8.5 x 11 inches it drops straight into a standard letter-size document frame, no trimming, no custom mat.

A sign you can build an altar around. Aquarius season, an Aquarius birthday, or a working timed to the Moon in Aquarius all get a focal point that says what the working is for.

Made by AzureGreen. It matches the rest of AzureGreen's zodiac poster series, so the full wheel can go up one sign at a time.

• Dimensions: 8.5 x 11 inches

Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the tropical zodiac, roughly January 20 through February 18, a fixed air sign symbolized by the Water Bearer. Its traditional ruler is Saturn; modern astrology adds Uranus. The sign is associated with invention, community, independence, and ideals held stubbornly, which is what fixed air does.

In Wicca and eclectic witchcraft, a zodiac poster is used as a focal image for sign-based work. Practitioners hang the current sign above the altar during its season, set up a birthday altar for an Aquarius friend, or time workings for group efforts, new ideas, and friendship to the Sun or Moon in Aquarius. In the Golden Dawn correspondences that most modern witches inherit, Aquarius belongs to the Star card of the tarot, the card of hope after upheaval, which makes the two a natural pair on the same wall. For astrology, the poster is a reference; for the witch, it is a way of telling the room whose season it is.

1. Choose the wall. Posters fade in direct sun, so a wall that gets soft light, or a spot near the altar rather than the window, keeps the colors true for years.
2. Frame it if you can. The 8.5 x 11 inch size is standard letter, so any document frame from the office aisle fits it exactly, and the glass keeps incense smoke and dust off the print.
3. Hang it where you will actually see it: above the altar, beside the mirror, or at eye level next to the desk where you plan your workings.
4. During Aquarius season, or on the night of an Aquarius Moon, set a pale blue or violet candle beneath it and speak an intention about a group, a friendship, or an idea you want to bring into the world.
5. For a birthday altar, pair it with the Aquarian's birth chart, a favorite stone, and the Star card face up.

If you are collecting the whole wheel, this is a fine place to start; the Water Bearer looks at home on nearly any wall.

• Capricorn Zodiac Poster by AzureGreen, 8.5 x 11 Inches: the sign before Aquarius, for building the wheel around the wall in order.
• Pisces Zodiac Poster, 8.5 x 11 Inches: the sign after, so winter's three signs hang together.
• Air Evocation Poster by AzureGreen, 8.5 x 11 Inches: the elemental companion to an air sign, for a wall that holds both.
• Astrological Oracle Cards by Lunaea Weatherstone: a deck built on the same zodiac correspondences, for readings under the poster.
• Complete Book of Astrology by Ada Aubin: the reference for everything the poster cannot fit on one sheet.

What size is the Aquarius zodiac poster?

The poster measures 8.5 by 11 inches, which is standard letter size. That means any document frame or certificate frame fits it with no trimming. It is large enough to read from across a small room and small enough to hang above an altar without crowding the wall.

What are the Aquarius dates and element?

Aquarius runs roughly January 20 through February 18 in the tropical zodiac, with the exact dates shifting a day either way from year to year. It is a fixed air sign, symbolized by the Water Bearer, traditionally ruled by Saturn and, in modern astrology, by Uranus. Its tarot card is the Star.

How do witches use a zodiac poster?

As a focal image for sign-based work. A witch might hang the current sign above the altar during its season, set up a birthday altar for someone born under it, or time a working to the Moon in that sign. The poster names the energy the working is calling on, the way a deity image names a deity.

Is this a good gift for an Aquarius?

It is one of the easiest Aquarius gifts there is. Frame it in a plain letter-size frame and it is ready to hang. Pair it with a Star tarot card, an amethyst, or a birth chart printout for a small birthday altar kit, and the Aquarius in your life will know you paid attention.

Does it come framed?

No. The poster ships as an unframed 8.5 x 11 inch print. Because that is standard letter size, an inexpensive document frame from any office or craft store fits it exactly, and glass keeps incense smoke and dust off the print if it hangs near your altar.
