Untumbled is selenite at its most honest: the satin spar fibers exposed rather than polished over, the silk luster running raw down the pendant's length, no two pieces cut to match because none are cut at all. The crystal tradition files selenite under cleansing and the crown, the stone the practice uses to clear everything else, and worn raw it carries that file in its working clothes. The satin surface will soften at the edges with wear, which is the nature of a Mohs 2 stone worn honestly, and the water rule is absolute: gypsum dissolves, so the pendant leaves before every shower. The stone clears no one on its own, as we say plainly across the jewelry shelf; it wears the tradition's brightest file exactly as the ground made it.

Is this true selenite?

Will the surface change?

Gently, yes: raw gypsum softens at the edges with wear, which is the honest nature of a Mohs 2 stone.

Can I shower in it?

No: gypsum is water-soluble. Off before water, every time.
