Every dish family has its plain worker, and the oval is this one's: no point to aim, no symbol to read, just the longest continuous lay in the line, which makes it the shape a tumbled-stone collection actually fits. Satin spar gypsum, named plainly as everywhere on our shelf, carves into it with the silk-white glow the mineral is loved for, and the crystal tradition's custom does the rest: stones rested in selenite dishes between workings, cleared and recharged by the tradition's reckoning, a file we pass on as the tradition it is. The oval suits the working collection, the pocket-emptying ritual, the stones that rotate daily. The bowl charges nothing on its own, as we say plainly; it holds the most of the custom at once.

1. Rest the rotating stones in it; the oval holds a working handful.
2. Keep it dry always; wipe with a dry cloth only.
