Music is the one art that everybody agrees does something, and nobody can quite say what. It moves people reliably, across cultures and centuries, without saying anything propositional at all, and every tradition that has tried to explain why has ended up somewhere metaphysical.

A line of notation is a nice thing to carry for that reason. It is a set of instructions for producing an effect that cannot be described in words, which is not a bad definition of a spell either.

1. Clean the surface thoroughly and let it dry before applying.
2. Peel and place it carefully, smoothing outward from the center to avoid bubbles.
3. Choose the spot with some care, since removal can be difficult.
4. Keep it clear of wipers, sensors, and anything that needs to move.
