What it does have is a small practical virtue: it lets you say a thing without permanently committing to saying it, which suits a practice that changes. The sticker you want on your car this year may not be the one you want next year, and there is something quietly sensible about a mount that knows this.

1. Check your surface is actually steel. Many modern cars have aluminium or plastic panels, and a magnet will not hold to those.
2. Clean and dry the surface, and the back of the magnet, before mounting.
3. Apply your sticker to the front of the holder, flat and centred.
4. Place the magnet on the surface, and press it flat so no edge lifts.
5. Remove it before a car wash, and keep it out of prolonged rain; it is not weatherproof.

What is it for?

Will it stick to my car?

Only if the panel is steel. Many modern vehicles use aluminium or plastic body panels, and a magnet will not hold to those. Test with any fridge magnet first.

Is it weatherproof?

No. Keep it out of prolonged rain and take it off before a car wash. It also works well indoors: a filing cabinet, a garage door, a fridge.

Does it need cleansing?

No. It is a magnet. Do not put salt on it; salt corrodes metal.
