Charging water under the moon appears across a great many practices, and the appeal is that it costs nothing and requires no equipment. The full moon in particular is widely worked as a point of completion and visibility, which is why it is the phase most often chosen for charging tools and water alike.

Worth saying plainly: the practice as most people know it today is modern and eclectic rather than a single inherited lineage. Contemporary witchcraft assembled it from a number of sources, and it became widespread in the twentieth century. That does not make it less useful, and a great many practitioners rely on it. It simply is not ancient in the way product pages often imply.

Jasmine's association with the moon and with night is better attested, appearing in Indian, Persian, and Arab traditions where the flower opens after dark and is gathered in the evening. Pairing it with lunar water is a reasonable choice rather than a marketing one.

1. Shake gently and mist lightly around a room, working the corners and the doorways if your practice moves that way.
2. Pass tools, cards, or stones through the mist rather than spraying them directly, and keep it away from anything that must stay dry. Selenite, angelite, and hematite should not be misted at all.
3. Use it to open a working: a light pass over the space, a stated intention, and then begin.
4. Some practitioners mist a room before sleep or before divination. Both are common and neither requires anything elaborate.
5. Keep the bottle closed between uses and store it out of the sun.

Can I spray this on crystals?

Some, but not all, and this matters. Selenite, angelite, hematite, and pyrite should never be misted, since water damages them. Pass those through incense smoke or sound instead. Quartz, agate, and jasper handle a light mist without trouble.

Can I drink it?

No. This is for external ritual use only. It is not prepared, bottled, or preserved as a beverage, and it should not be treated as one. Keep it away from children and pets as well.

How long does it keep?

Water-based preparations without preservatives have a limited life, particularly once opened. Keep the bottle closed and out of sunlight, and discard it if it turns cloudy, smells off, or develops any growth. Do not try to rescue it.

Will it stain fabric or wood?

It is a light mist rather than an oil, so it usually will not, but it is still water. Test somewhere inconspicuous before misting textiles, unsealed wood, leather, or anything with a finish you care about.

Can I make my own instead?

Absolutely, and plenty of practitioners do. Water left out overnight under a full moon is the traditional method and costs nothing. This is a convenience and a scent, not a substitute for the practice.
