Aura quartz is a modern creation, a twentieth century treatment in which vaporized metals are bonded to natural quartz in a vacuum chamber, and we name it as the modern thing it is rather than dressing it in ancient robes. What practice has made of it is genuine enough: quartz remains the great amplifier and clarifier of the crystal shelf, and the bright, shifting rainbow finish has given aura quartz a reputation for joy, lift, and lightness of spirit. Worn as a pendant, it is the cheerful cousin of the clear quartz point, kept close for brightness rather than gravity.

1. Cleanse it gently with smoke, sound, or moonlight. Skip salt, abrasives, and ultrasonic cleaners, which wear the coating.
2. Wear it on a chain or cord when the day calls for lift and lightness.
3. Hold the point in meditation as a bright focal stone.

Is the rainbow color natural?

No. Quartz does not come out of the ground iridescent. The sheen is an aura treatment, a vaporized metal layer bonded to the surface of genuine quartz.

Does that make it fake?

The quartz is real and the treatment is a standard, permanent lapidary finish. What would be wrong is not telling you, so we tell you.
