Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek moon, and modern practice has made it the great cleansing stone of the shelf: the piece other stones rest against, the wand passed over a space, the soft white glow kept for clarity and calm. The orange variety warms that register, the moon's stone carrying a little sunset, and practitioners reach for it where cleansing work meets comfort: bedside tables, grief seasons, the gentle end of an altar. 1. Cleanse it dry on arrival: smoke, sound, or a night of moonlight. Never water.
