Druzy is what happens when a gas bubble or a void in the rock gives mineral-rich water somewhere to crystallize, over a very long time, into a crust of tiny quartz points. It is the same process that makes a geode, on a smaller scale, and it means the sparkle in the heart is the record of an empty space that filled itself in. That is a rather good thing to hold, whatever you make of it.
