This is a mains electrical product. Please treat it as one.

• Do not cleanse it with salt, water, or any liquid. Salt is corrosive and conductive, and it does not belong anywhere near a plug, a socket, or a bulb fitting.
• Do not put it in a bath, a bowl of water, or under running water.
• Keep the cord and socket dry, and inspect them for damage before plugging in.
• Do not use a damaged cord, and do not leave a lamp burning unattended for long periods.
• If you want to cleanse a lamp, use smoke or moonlight, and keep it unplugged while you do.

A cord does not have one, and we would rather not invent it. It carries electricity to a bulb. What it can do is light something you care about, and there is a small real dignity in that: a salt lamp lit in the corner of a room is a warm and pleasant thing, and a working cord is what makes it possible.

If your practice keeps a lit lamp on an altar, then this is the part that keeps it lit, which is a genuinely useful role and needs no inflating.

1. Check the cord and bulb suit your lamp before fitting.
2. Fit the cord into the lamp base with the lamp unplugged.
3. Seat the bulb properly, and make sure nothing is loose.
4. Plug in and switch on, keeping the cord clear of water and heat.
5. Unplug before moving, cleaning, or handling the lamp.
