This flat carries three minerals grown together, and each brings its own thread. Quartz is the great clarifier and amplifier of the crystal shelf; because Cunningham lists it under more than one element and planet, our house custom leaves those formal fields blank for quartz rather than picking a side. Pyrite comes with classical papers: Cunningham seats it under Mars and Fire, the glittering money-and-protection stone whose folk career has always been guarding real gold's interests. Aragonite is the modern member of the trio, a carbonate that contemporary practice keeps for grounding and patience, and we attribute it to modern practice honestly. Will my pieces match the photo?

No two will. These are natural Peruvian specimens, and the size, shape, and balance of quartz, aragonite, and pyrite vary piece to piece and tray to tray.

Is the gold colored mineral real gold?

It is pyrite, iron sulfide, the original fool's gold. The glitter is genuine pyrite grown into the clusters, and its folk reputation for guarding wealth comes from exactly that resemblance.
