Worn as an inscription, it works as a standing reminder of that respect, and we present it with deference to the living traditions it comes from rather than as decoration alone. The wood brings its own lineage: palo santo, the sacred clearing wood of Andean folk practice, reputably supplied from naturally fallen, aged wood as the tradition prefers. No, and the previous version of this page wrongly suggested it. These are jewelry: warmth and a gentle rub renew the fragrance, and flame stays away from anything worn on a cord.
