Roughly three inches, freestanding. Tall enough to anchor an altar arrangement, small enough to live on a desk or a windowsill without taking the room over.

Pink and black together. The manganese oxide veining is not a flaw in the stone. It is the stone. Rhodonite without the dark seams would be a different rock and a different symbol.

Rhodonite belongs to the heart in modern crystal practice, and it belongs there for a reason you can see with your own eyes. Rose quartz is the heart stone people reach for when they want love to be soft. Rhodonite is what you reach for when the heart in question has been through something. The black running through the pink is the whole argument.

Practitioners work it for forgiveness, for reconciliation, and for the long unglamorous business of tending an old hurt rather than declaring it healed. That is compatible with how we write about feelings here: the work is witnessing, not erasing. A stone that carries its own dark veining is an honest partner for that.

An obelisk concentrates and directs. Set on an altar with a petition beneath it, or held during a working, the shape gives the intention somewhere to go.

1. Cleanse it on arrival with smoke, sound, or moonlight. Avoid salt water, which is hard on polished stone over time.
2. Place it at the center or the heart-point of your altar, and name what it is holding for you.
3. For reconciliation or forgiveness work, write the petition and set the obelisk on top of it, letting the point stand as the direction you want the thing to move.
4. Hold it while you sit with a feeling you would rather not sit with. It does not fix anything. It keeps you company while you do.

Return it to moonlight when the work is finished, or when the stone feels like it has been carrying too much for too long.

Will mine look exactly like the photo?

No. Rhodonite varies considerably in the balance of pink to black, and every obelisk is cut from a different piece. Height is approximate.

Does rhodonite relieve stress or help me sleep?

We are not going to tell you that. Those claims are common and they are not something we will make. Rhodonite is a stone people work with for heart-centered and reconciliation-focused practice, and that is what it is sold for here. For sleep or stress as medical concerns, talk to a doctor.

Why the black veins?

Manganese oxide. It forms alongside the pink manganese silicate and is characteristic of the stone. A rhodonite with no veining at all is unusual, and most practitioners prefer the contrast anyway.

How do I care for it?

Dust it, keep it out of prolonged direct sun, and skip the salt water. Polished rhodonite is not fragile but it does not need abuse.
