A word about the word miracle, since it is on the label. Candles do not produce miracles, and a page that suggests otherwise is not doing you a kindness. What a candle can honestly do is hold your attention on something for as long as it burns, and give a hard hope somewhere to sit.

That is not nothing. People light candles when they are out of moves, and the lighting is a way of saying the thing out loud rather than carrying it silently. Pink is the heart colour, and heart is the right register here: gentleness toward the situation and toward yourself while you wait for something to shift. If the outcome does not come, that is not a failure of your intention, and we would rather say so plainly. Some things do not turn, and hoping was still the right thing to do.

1. Cleanse and set up. Pass cleansing smoke over the votive and set it in a holder on a heat-safe surface.
2. Name the thing. Out loud, plainly, without softening it.
3. Light it and sit. Let the flame hold the hope while you breathe.
4. Do what can be done. Whatever practical move remains, make it.
