Liminal comes from the Latin limen, a threshold, and the idea it names is one of the most widespread in folk belief: that the in-between is where things happen. Not day and not night but dusk. Not land and not sea but the shore. Not inside and not outside but the doorway. Crossroads, thresholds, the turning of a year: these are the places and moments that traditions across the world have marked as thin, and where offerings tend to be left.

Zakroff is a working artist and author whose books include Sigil Witchery and Weave the Liminal, and the deck follows the same thread. It is a tool for sitting with a question rather than for getting an answer, which is the honest way to use any oracle: the cards give you an image to think against, and the thinking is yours.

1. Cleanse the deck on arrival if that is your practice: smoke, moonlight, or a rest on selenite.
2. Name the question, and be honest about what you are actually asking.
3. Draw a single card, or a small spread from the guidebook.
4. Read the entry, then sit with the image rather than rushing to a verdict.
5. Write it down. The record is what turns a reading into a practice.
