Jinx Removing Oil, 4 Dram

Made for anointing. A blended fragrance oil for dressing candles, marking thresholds and doorways, anointing charms, and preparing yourself before a cleansing. For skin, dilute it in a carrier oil first.

Uncrossing is some of the oldest and most important work in the Hoodoo tradition, and the reasoning behind it is plain: no money, love, or luck working will take hold while a person is still crossed. The slate has to be cleared first. A jinx removing oil belongs to that clearing, the first move rather than the last.

Practitioners dress a candle with it and burn it while they name what they want lifted, mark a threshold someone crossed with ill will, anoint a paper naming the condition, or wear a diluted trace before a cleansing bath. The old sequence is clear first, draw second: once the jinx is lifted, the work turns to opening the roads and drawing in the good that was being kept out. Hoodoo is a living African American tradition; to go deeper with uncrossing work, learn from its own teachers and practitioners.

1. Name what you are lifting. Speak plainly what has been crossed and what you want cleared.
2. Dress a candle. Anoint a black or white candle, working away from yourself, the clearing direction, and burn it safely, never unattended.
3. Mark a threshold. Touch a trace to a doorway or the corners of a room that needs clearing.
4. Anoint yourself, diluted, before a cleansing bath, working downward and away.
5. Follow with drawing work. Once the ground is clear, work a road-opening or blessing formula so something better fills the space.

What is jinx removing for?

Uncrossing: lifting a jinx, breaking a run of bad luck, and clearing a crossed condition off a person, a place, or an object. It is clearing work rather than drawing work.

Which direction do I work it?

Away from yourself, and downward. Clearing work moves things off and away, which is the reverse of a drawing formula, where you work upward and inward.

What do I do after the clearing?

Should I get the 2 dram or the 4 dram?
