Is this real alexandrite?

No. "Alexandrite" is the name of the color, a purple tint in the glass. Natural alexandrite is a rare gemstone that would never come as a 3 inch sphere at this price. This is a glass gazing ball, the same material most crystal balls are made from.

Does it come with a stand?

No, the ball ships on its own. A ring stand sized for 80mm (3 inch) balls holds it well, or you can rest it on a folded cloth. Our flower and Bastet stands are made for smaller 50mm balls, so they're too small for this one.
