What it does have is a register, and it is a real one. The forest is where a great deal of European folk practice actually happened, for the straightforward reason that it was the place nobody was watching. The wood is where you went to do what could not be done in the village. Green witchcraft, hedge practice, and the whole tradition of the wild place beyond the boundary all draw on that, and a scent that puts you under trees is doing honest work in that lineage even if the bottle is modern.

Used deliberately, a fragrance becomes a switch. Scent is wired more directly to memory than any other sense, and an oil worn only when you sit down to a particular kind of work will, within a few months, be the thing that puts you into it. That mechanism does not require the oil to be ancient. It requires you to be consistent.

1. Wear it into green work. Herbcraft, plant work, anything done outdoors or wishing it were. The scent and the practice agree with each other.
2. Use it as an anchor. Wear it only for one kind of working and let the association build. This is the most useful thing to do with any fragrance that has no tradition attached.
3. Dress a candle for hedge or boundary work. Green candles, threshold workings, anything about the edge between the tame and the wild.
4. Work it at the green sabbats. Beltane, Litha, the turning-green half of the wheel.
5. Patch test. As with any fragrance on skin.

Is it an essential oil? No. It is a blended fragrance composition on a cosmetic-grade base.

Can I wear it on skin? Yes, it is made for it. Patch test first regardless.
