The rudraksha seed deserves its introduction: sacred in Hindu tradition, held to be beloved of Shiva, and strung into malas worn for prayer and mantra for many centuries. Is the blue onyx natural?

Blue onyx in commercial jewelry is generally color-treated, as vivid blue is not onyx's natural shade. We would rather tell you that than let the prettiest bead carry a quiet fib.

Better not. Rudraksha seeds and elastic cord both age faster with soaking; take it off for showers and swimming and it will serve for years.
